With over fifty years of experience in Germany and on an international level, Uexküll & Stolberg is a firm with at present nineteen patent attorneys admitted to practice before the European Patent Office (EPO), the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), Germany’s Federal Patent Court and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). The team of Uexküll & Stolberg also includes two attorneys-at-law (Rechtsanwälte) specialized in trademark matters. The firm is steadily growing and two scientists are currently working as trainees, which will strengthen the team of patent attorneys in the near future. Founded in 1958, the firm today employs over fifty full-time staff at its offices in Hamburg and Munich.

The firm offers a full range of legal services for intellectual property, including patent, utility model, trademark and industrial design prosecution before German and supranational institutions, as well as foreign national authorities. Chemistry, biotechnology/life sciences, information technology and electronics are areas in which the firm is particularly active.

Due to a great number of worldwide operating clients, Uexküll & Stolberg's representation has always been on an international level. Over the years, an extensive network has thus been developed to associates all over the world, who closely cooperate with the firm. This enables Uexküll & Stolberg to coordinate worldwide prosecution of its clients' intellectual property matters.

A particularly important aspect of the firm’s business is patent opposition and infringement proceedings. Patent infringement cases before German regional courts are handled by Uexküll & Stolberg in close cooperation with local attorneys specializing in patent litigation. The firm has extensive experience regarding consultancy and advisory activities in national patent infringement cases, as well as in the coordination of international patent infringement cases.

Trademark infringement cases are handled by the firm’s experienced attorneys-at-law (Rechtsanwälte).

Other services include infringement and validity searches and opinions and consultancy in licensing matters.

All partners are fluent in German and English. Individual partners are fluent in additional languages as well, such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian.
